Ok, my first offical blog by default is about food. Sometime last year I was having a conversation with a regular customer of mine about starting a lowfat restaraunt where the food in fact tasted good. He looks at me, smiles slyly and says, "oh you mean like my daughter's. " So much for my original idea! He proceeds to hand me the card to the restaraunt and tells me to check it out.
"It's a cool scene for young people," That is how he described it. "She's got a bar and everything." Always a reasurrance let me tell you. Well it just so happens that while my friend and I were trying to figure out someplace healthy to eat last night, I remembered this place. Being the um, document saver that I am... yes that is a nice name for it, I dugg out the card. After a good 20 minutes of searching we discovered that the place was right on the campus of Johns Hopkins University. It suddenly made sense why she "had a bar and everything."
Our waitress Tasha, was the best. I'm in the restaraunt industry so I tend to over analyse my service when I go out, but this lady was on point. She gave great advice about the menu and made an amazing coffee drink. Come to find out the only meat served on this menu is Tuna. We were skepitcal at first but hey we did want something healthy.
I was shocked, everything was delicious, even the freaking balsalmic vinagrette dressing was good. I hate balsalmic dressing so that says alot. I had the lasanga, best lasagna I ever had hands down and not a drop of meat. My friend of course had the tuna. Then for dessert we had this vegan blondie, I didn't think it could be done but some how they made it moist and wonderful with no eggs, milk or butter.
Final rating two thumbs up. I would go to this place again and again. It is open until 2am, it has a lounge area, a restaraunt, good music from around the world, the walls are purple, the waitresses rock, the food is delicious, oh and they have a bar.
If you are ever on Hopkins Campus, it is right on charles and University Parkway, across from the sports complex. I garuntee you won't be dissapointed.
